SOCCER ARENA CONSTITUTION

Section 1:

THIS IS THE CONSTITUTION of Soccer Arena group, made this 5th day of March 2014 to be cited as 'Soccer Arena Rules'.

Section 2:

OUR GROUP:The Group shall be called SOCCER ARENA

A member of Soccer Arena is and would be known as Arenite and in plural, Arenites.

Section 3:

OUR AIM:The group's major aim is to discuss about the beautiful game of football/soccer at all levels and strata and discuss football in any form the game is at the present moment ; To enlighten its members about football; To discuss problems facing the footballing world and proffer solutions; to make reasonable predictions and suggestions about the future of the game and any such further related topics permissible to be discussed.

OUR BODY OF RULES

Section 4:

Membership to this group is open and free from charges to all people of the public, irrespective of age, race and creed.

Section 5:

All members of the group shall be grounded in the game of soccer and be able to make reasonable discourse on topics spanning different leagues and aspects of football.

Sec 5( 1): No member of the group shall knowingly invite any member who has no reasonably sufficient knowledge of the game.

Section 6: All new members MUST within reasonable time, 24 hours of addition to the group, introduce themselves to the group, stating their names, sex and the club they support (if any)

Section 6 :

New members may upload a picture of themselves in their club jerseys for unveiling(OPTIONAL)

Section 7:

7(1)No member should be involved in blind arguments calculated to waste batteries and with no intellectual benefit.

7(2): For the purpose of section 7, BLIND ARGUMENTS can be described as argument without facts (i.e based solely on a fictitious premise or ungrounded intuition) or verifiable information to back it up.

7(3): Soccer arena is a courteous group and as such does not encourage members deleting themselves to prove cheap points. Members who decide to delete themselves without due consultations with Admins/ DC concerning their grievances would henceforth not be re-added to the group

without punishment followed by a general apology to the group.

7(4):

The punishment will be a fine of 1,000( one thousand naira only) in recharge card and apology to the house with or without SA Community Service.

SECTION 8:

8(1)Decorum must be preserved at all times; No member of the group shall be involved in verbal insults, cheap banter intended to exposure of personal facts about another member calculated to discredit or disgrace.

8(2): However, guarded sarcasm and taking shots at rival clubs are allowed.

SECTION 9:

9(1)Derogatory alternative names of clubs are totally prohibited. These are, but not limited to, words like 'assanal' 'Chelshit' 'Manure' 'Liverfool' 'Real MAD rid'.

9(2) The words that constitute these derogatory words but not clear cut should be decided by 2/3 of the members by simple affirmation.

SECTION 10:

Sexually explicit discussion or use of words which connotes violence are not allowed.

SECTION 11:

Discussion of things that are not connected to soccer are allowed on the following conditions:

that these extraneous things are things that will enrich the members in knowledge, and can reasonably be seen to be for the welfare of the group and its members or so intended; That these extraneous things are regulated so as not to obstruct the main aim of the group.

SECTION 12:

12(1): Social gatherings by group members under the banner of the group may be held from time to time.

12(2):These gathering while not policing the individual should be held with utmost respect for human person.

12(3): Movement and activities of all members so gathered must be known to coordinating Arenites.

12(4): Social gathering must be devoid of any form of violence or crime.

12(5): If any form of violence or crime is witnessed, the DC in conjunction with the simple majority of the members that attended the events will determine if it is misdemeanor or felony and punishment meted as stated in Soccer Arena Penal Codes.

SECTION 13:

Any member of the group who has written an article connected to football or is scheduled to feature/appear as a pundit/football critic on radio or television OR visits any stadium in Nigeria or abroad may share his experience/page/picture for the perusal of other members and members are expected to show some support. This is done to build great men of sports and knowledge that will rule the world from Soccer Arena.

SECTION 14:

14(1) Any member who changes his name or alters his name to an unrecognisable state should notify the group as soon as he/she makes a comment or so soon thereafter, not more than 24 hours.

14(2) Failure to inform the house will result in punishment of silence in group activities for 72 hours, after which you still inform the members.

SECTION 15:

15(1)Dormant/ No DATA members are advised to start participating or risk removal.

15(2) The removal would come after warnings for three consecutive days

SECTION 16:

No active member of this group can be removed without a 3/4 majority votes from other active members, except in breach of SA rules.

SECTION 17:

Disobedience and Disregard of this body of rules by any member(depending on the situation and the level of disobedience) may lead to.

17(1) A SIMPLE REPRIMAND. Simple reprimand is asking you to desist from that without a fine or any other punishment.

17(2): A Harsh Reprimand. A harsh reprimand will be warning to desist in addition to 3 days Community service .

17( 3): A light punishment agreed on by the members. A light punishment is payment of fine as agreed by the DC

17(4): A short suspension, not less than 72 hours.

17( 5): Expulsion. Expulsion could be permanent or when the DC has determined that the person has shown demonstrable remorse.

Section 18

18(1): This is an interactive group. building healthy relationships outside the group is encouraged. However, defrauding members financially, sexually, emotionally or otherwise is heavily frowned at. As such, this serves as a warning to both old and new arenites who would go on to do business outside the stated aims/ objectives of the group to do so with extreme caution. If transactions outside of football are to be made, members are strongly advised to check with group Admins or other trusted members before proceeding with such businesses.

18(2) Henceforth the group would not be held liable for transactions that go sour between members.

18(3): Any member who's found after proper investigations to be a serial fraudster would be expelled from the group.

SECTION 19:

19(1): New decisions arising from immediate circumstances can be voted in by a simple majority.

19(2): Immediate circumstances are things not enshrined in the constitution of Soccer Arena and/or not clear cut to the generality of arenites.

SECTION 20:

The name of the group cannot be changed without a 4/5 majority vote to that regard.

SECTION 21:

This constitution can only be amended by a 3/4 majority vote to amend.

SOCCER ARENA PENAL CODE:

Pursuant to sections 8, 9, 10 and 17 of the soccer Arena Constitution and with the agreement of members, this law is hereby enacted on the 29th day of January 2015, amended on this day.... .

To be cited as

"Penal Code"

"Punishment Law"

And binding on all present members(Arenites) of the group "soccer arena" or whatever name the gathering chooses to be known.

The DC (Disciplinary committee) will be a body responsible for adjudicating on offenses brought by the Admins and meting out punishments as stimulated by the words and letter of Soccer Arena Constitution.

PREAMBLE:

Due to the nature of the group as a social forum whose primary aim is football discussion and other related topics; and due to certain complexities and unavoidable dynamism of human nature;

Due also to its nature as a hub of human interaction, certain measures were sought to control ego, nip indiscipline, curb mischief, encourage decent participation, maintain decorum without breaching freedom of adults to interact.

DEFINITIONS:

A) Explicit :

(The constitution did not ban sexual discussion in its entirety but explicit discussion of sex or attempt to turn the group to pornographic forum)

CLASSES OF CRIMES:

A)felony B) Misdemeanors

FELONY:

These are serious crimes that require serious punishment:

Rule 1: Use of prohibited words to refer to clubs.

These words are but not limited to the following:

Chelshit

Manure.

Assanal

UEFAlona

Liverfluke/ Liverfool/ Loserpool

Manshitty

And such other words calculated to taunt and insult a rival club.

Rule 2: Flagrant disobedience and disregard of the constitution of Soccer Arena after much warning.

Rule 3: Decrying the constitution and denouncing its content or denying that the constitution applies to you.

Rule 4: Excessive insult of a fellow group member(Arenite) after much warning by members and admin.

Rule 5: Deleting a group member by an admin out of malice. When it has been sufficiently deemed that it is that particular admin that did it.

PUNISHMENT FOR FELONY

Rule 6 : the punishments of SUSPENSION and EXPULSION contained in Section 17 of the Soccer Arena constitution.

Rule 7: In furtherance of the contents of section 17. Suspension will be classified into two:

Rule 7( 1): Suspension Without Deletion : the member will observe proceedings without participating.

Any attempt to participate will be unlawful and further aggravate the punishment.

Rule 7( 2): Suspension with deletion: On return from this suspension, the member must affirm/swear an oath of return and good conduct which will serve as an undertaking.

MISDEMEANOR

These are lesser offences with lesser punishment.

Rule 8:

Knowingly inviting a member who has insufficient knowledge of general soccer.

Punishment: Open apology to the group and withdrawal of such member.

Rule 9: Using sexually explicit words in discussion of sex and in a sexual context. This context will include pictures, memes, stickers and any other such thing that is in no doubt constitute explicit sexual context.

The use of the word "fuck" to refer to sexual intercourse is prohibited.

Use of the word "pussy, cunt, dick" to refer to any part of the human body will be regulated and asterisked (***)

Words like "straffed", "shagged" may be allowed but regulated in usage.

Rule 10: Non soccer pictures and memes and stickers can be posted but shouldn't be made in such a manner unintelligible.

Rule 11:

11(1) Posting of pictures and memes and stickers that exhibit "nudity" according to the definition in this law is prohibited.

11(2) When there is a dilemma or confusion on what constitute nudity, 2/3 Arenites votes would be a seal, otherwise the pictures, memes and stickers stand.

PUNISHMENT FOR MISDEMEANOR

Rule 12:

A) Arena Community Service:

3 days and not exceeding 1week of work as research officer for the arena. News, articles, updates will be brought to the group to service our blogs, channels and feeds.

B) Minor fine: of 300naira recharge card credit for members in Nigeria and will be handed over to an admin for distribution to group members. The distribution must be seen to be in manner that is fair.

C)Major fine: from 500 naira and not exceeding 1000naira card credit for members in Nigeria to be distributed particularly to those who made right match predictions.

Rule 13: Ban from activity: the defaulting member will be banned from participating in any draw or activity that will be of monetary gain to him or her in the group for a period not exceeding one week.

Rule 14: Failure to serve punishment for a misdemeanor makes it a felony.

JUDGEMENT AND TRIAL:

Rule 15: Decision for a felony judgement must be reached by a 2/3 majority as dictated by the constitution.

Rule 16: Decision for a misdemeanor may be reached by

- 1 admin and 5 members backing him when raised by an admin.

A misdemeanor can be punished without a full trial but a felony must be punished with a full trial.

Rule 17: in a full trial, the defaulting member must be told what he did, given evidence, given opportunity to defend himself(or appoint a mouth piece) with one other Arenite as agreed by the defendant and the DC before votes are taken.

Rule 18: Judgement for a felony must be written and sent to the member privately.

Rule 19: The house may accept an apology/remorse for 1st time offenders.

Rule 20: These rules are binding on all members and can only be reversed by vote of a simple majority.
