About last night @ The KCOM Stadium : 7 Talking points from Man Utd Line up

The EFL semifinal tie between Hull City and Manchester United ended with a  2-1 scoreline, however it wasn't enough for the home side as Man Utd face Southampton in the final; winning the tie 2-3 on aggregate. Here are some observations from The Manchester United squad last night.

I think the Man United side looked a bit disjointed, but you could tell that they played to the occasion...Thursday football with a 2-0 lead in their heads, while looking ahead to the weekend fixture. My player ratings:

1. Carrick was his normal controlled self, he was the best United player on the field as usual.

2. Pogba was doing his work diligently as he always does in my opinion - he didn't fix his price....thankfully he picked the pocket of the Hull City rearguard.

3. Rashford had a solid outing, while Lingaard fell d hand and played sunday afternoon amateur style football.

4. Rojo and Jones looked fantastic.

5. Smalling and Darmian will be back on d bench pronto.

6. Herrera has almost never had a bad game for Manchester United....he was at worst average yesterday and should always partner Carrick when they are both fit.

7. Ibrahimovic isn't electrifying....he's a 'moments of magic' player so I wouldn't judge him for yesterday's game.

My alterations for the next 2 games barring any injuries:

A. Martial for Rashford

B. Mikhtaryan for Lingard

C. Valencia for Darmian

D. Bailly for Smalling

E.....subs...Rashford, Mata, Fellaini.

Thanks
