Tactical Analysis of the Manchester united vs Arsenal Game.

The Epl treated us to a fine week start after the international break and we couldn't have asked for more. Two teams with contrasting streaks of recent recent results took the reins for another showdown that has been Epl highlights for decades. Arsenal came into the encounter with full strength, while united were missing their two giants, Ibrahimovic and Baily.
Pundits tipped arsenal to do the damage owing to the rough patch united has been through.
The play was generally dominated by United, but Arsenal stole it late, to ensure each team took a point apiece home. The game had routines and flashes of geniuses here and there, but it will all be broken down in a moment.

Tactical approach.
Arsenal was the less team, but remained solid behind without individual error. United were superb but defensively lost concentration towards the end, something that is not common with Jose in his entire coaching career.

UNITED´s APPROACH.
Playing the 4231 formation, jose added a little tweak, by allowing Mata tucking inside the midfield right and giving Valencia the right wing to bust at will, while on the left, Martial sticked to the touch line which also helped to keep Damian in position and ensured a quiet Walcott for longer duration of the game. Pogba and Herrera found understanding of axile movement with one dragging opponent off for the other to break away when space provides itself. The beauty of this cost Arsenal organisational problems in the middle. Building up from the back was non existence. Coquelin had troubles keeping up, Ozil was flattened out. Mustaphi and Koschieny were left to keep the defensive duties intact with few tackles which they actually held their own end well.
Mata aside from the goal, created chances from the middle of the park for arsenal with his positioning and Valencia constantly stretching the defence.
The freedom and artistic movements Man united displayed can be credited to Carrick in the deep midfield role, something united had been lacking.
Arsenal late come back wasn't as a perseverance to equalise, it was mainly due to the lack of discipline from United's players and loss of concentration.
