Man Utd representatives deny Smalling injury claim

Manchester United have denied reports of Chris Smalling missing a month with a toe injury.

He was criticised by Jose Mourinho on Sunday for missing the match with Swansea - with the United boss claiming his players needed to learn to play through pain.

And it was reported yesterday morning that Smalling had broken a toe and could miss a month of action.

But United, according to Reuters, have denied the story.

"We don't comment on rumours or speculation but I can say that the story in the (Daily) Mail isn't true," a club representative told Reuters on Friday.
