Cristiano Ronaldo Has Enraged Buddhist Fans on Social Media
Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo is always on the lookout for a good photo opportunity on his travels, but he appears to have gone too far with his recent snap, angering a large section of Buddhists.
The 31-year-old was involved in his side's Champions League group stage victory over Legia Warsaw on Tuesday evening, but on Thursday morning the Portuguese international posted a picture on Instagram posing next to a large Buddhist statue, with his right foot resting on the religious carving.
This has caused an uproar in the Buddhist community over the disrespect shown by the La Liga legend, and has also led to a large number of his followers demanding he take the photo down from social media, both on Twitter and Instagram.
Despite not meaning to offend anyone with his picture, which was captioned 'Bom Dia', meaning 'Good Morning', Ronaldo has created more controversy in a couple a weeks which has also seen rumours of his lack of faithfulness in previous relationships with supermodels.
Ronaldo should become a Buddhist, believe in reincarnation and HOPE that he becomes another human to in another era. Thats his only chance

This looks like Ronaldo's back garden.
If he owns a Buddhist statue and doesn't know you're not supposed to step on it, that's pretty crass— Paul Morrissey (@Paul_Morrissey) October 20, 2016
